OLIVE Interview

Our miniview series drops every Monday morning; we will be chatting to a different designer, maker or brand that we are loving at the moment. Giving you an insight into different undiscovered talent, behind the scenes of the industry leaders and tips and advice.

This week we got talking to the brand OLIVE about their beautiful handmade jewellery.

Can you tell us how OLIVE was born, and was jewellery making always something that you wanted to peruse?

OLIVE started from a kitchen table in Dorset UK, last summer. After breaking my foot in Portugal last July, I found myself with limited hobbies that were possible on crutches.

After always wanting to work in fashion and being creative from a young age, deep down I knew I was going to have a career in design. Jewellery was something that would always complete my outfit so naturally I started to play around with different materials.

Once I’d made certain designs for myself and friends, I created OLIVE’s Instagram @olivejewellery__ , the responses and love I received spurred me on and I never looked back…

Where do you find inspiration for your pieces?

My inspirations can be found in so many places but for me, often I will see an outfit or piece of clothing and try to complete it, imagining a design which will complement the whole picture.

Where do you see OLIVE going in the future?

I’d love to see OLIVE grow into big well known handmade bespoke jewellery company. These days I think it is rare for businesses to grow but still remain handmade and individual to each customer. (That’s the goal)
